An early example of a format war, this was RCA's answer to Columbia's 33⅓ rpm record. Both sides won - LPs held albums of songs and 45s became the standard way of releasing "singles." This is one of a set of samples still in the original pastic sleeve sent to dealers before RCA's first release of 45 rpm records. Different colors were used for different categories of music.
