Title:

L'Arlesienne 2e Suite

Artist:

L'Orchestre Colonne

Date:

c. 1910

Material:

Shellac

Dimensions:

20 in. (50 cm)

Company:

Pathé

The largest shellac record produced commercially (Neophone also had a 20 in. record). It was a center start, vertically cut record and weighed 5 lbs 5 oz. (2.4 kg). The goal was higher quality sound, not more music. It played at 120 rpm, so it had same duration as 12 inch record. Its size and weight made it difficult to handle and it was not a success.

20 inch (50 cm) Pathe Concert record to be played at 120 rpm
