Stores the character widths used to control letter spacing for punched tape driven typesetters like Linotype, Intertype or Compugraphics. Text to be typeset was entered on a keyboard and stored on punched tape. The Justape machine could take the unjustified text from that tape, justify it using the character spacing information on the width plug and write it to a second tape, which was then fed into the typesetter.
