Instructions for the Phonographic Recorder EGOVOX
- Place a special EGOVOX disc on the turntable of your phonograph.
- Adjust the slide (1) so that with the recorder in place, the foot (2) is outside the turntable, without touching it.
- Place the hole (3) of the recorder on the turntable spindle.
- Adjust the slide (4) so that the screw (5) is approximately parallel to the plane of the disc, and make sure that the wheel presses well on the disc.
- Mount the recorder needle on the diaphragm as you would an ordinary needle and leave the diaphragm at its normal inclination.
- Release the driver (7) from the screw (5) by lifting it and place the needle near the outer edge of the disc. Let the driver drop and it will automatically engage with the screw (5). The recorder should rest on the side of the phono opposite the diaphragm.
- Before starting the turntable make sure the diaphragm drive rod will not touch the recorder media during operation.
- Start the phonograph at medium speed, let the turntable rotate one or two times and speak, sing or play as close as possible to the phonograph horn. For voice or singing, articulate strongly and distinctly.
