16 mm microfilm is inserted into sleeves in the jacket. Recordak Micro-Thin brand was introduced in 1968. The basic concept of a microfilm jacket was patented by NB Jackets Corp. in 1966 (Stauley 1966). Jackets with sleeves of different widths, for example 35 mm and 16 mm, were also available.
