Rainbo Records was started in 1939 and is still going strong. Their first product was home recording disks like this one made of lacquer-coated aluminum. They went on to manufacture vinyl records for major labels, including artists from Glen Campbell to Metallica. They made cassette recordings when they became popular and manufactured CDs and DVDs. But they never stopped pressing vinyl. In fact, their capacity has ramped up to handle the present-day vinyl resurgence.

During their history, they specialized in unusual formats. They pioneered cardboard records like picture discs and cereal box records, including the first cereal box record for Wheaties. They also worked with Mattel on the first talking Barbie Doll.
