A continuous cartridge for Kenner's Say It! Play It! tape recorder. The recorder was simple to use, which gave kids access to activities that adults engaged in (Toy Tales 2024). Inserting the cartridge turns on the recorder. Record and playback are selected by a single toggle switch. There are no other controls and no tape to thread. The recorder came with one 30 second and one 3 min. cartridge. The box advises kids to "save favorite recordings for replay" and helpfully announces that "Refill cartridges [are] available" (Worthpoint 2024). Among the suggested uses that communicate the target age group are "Record Daddy's voice" and "Record your favorite TV characters." You can also use it to "bug friends." A TV commercial from 1968 shows the Say It! Play It! in use by its target audience.
